HOW IT WORKS: Usually take place over either a half or full day. We use your ICT suite (usually with class sizes of 30 pupils per session) and run ICT music workshops using revolutionary music software, 'O-Generator'. O-Generator is educational music software bought to you by O-Music and Sibelius and is software designed to speak the language of year 5-9 students; it allows students to learn, understand, explore and compose music. The design engages students on a visual and aural level and most importantly stimulates them into trying, creating and learning composition styles of their own.

- Students are introduced to the concept of O-Generator - how it works, how to navigate the software and what is does.

- A professional musician will guide students through a lesson using the data projector (if you have one!).

- Students will learn the basics of composing. [Putting together a basic drumbeat (the 3 easy steps) and basic melody]. They are then shown how to compose a basic track.

- Workshop culminates in an analysis of some of the pupils' songs and a brief introduction to other lessons. There is a brief Q & A session to see what the students have learnt at the end of the lesson.
