Upcoming Shows Saturday 17th November - The Halo Bar, London New Gig! We're Back! It's been a while, too long really, but demands, delays and distractions have all contributed. But we haven't been idle (see below). So we'll be playing some new and some old from the 'In Time' album. I'm delighted and excited that Alex and Sam are back from the Corrine Bailey Rae tour. Rehearsals were sounding great so get down to the shows if you can. Even more reason is Eric Appapoulay (Natasha & Daniel Bedingfield, Nitin Sawhney), playing the London show. Eric's playing tracks from his fantastic new album, Faith is Trust. Recording I've been sitting on this material for a while now. The key for me has been trying to add a bigger dimension to the sound. Ivor Guest was going to produce a few tracks but it hasn't worked out. But things have unravelled in a good way. Robert Logan is a young composer with a bright future ahead of him. To have worked with Brian Eno, Ivor Guest and Grace Jones as well as composed a critically acclaimed debut album at such a young age says it all. The approach he takes to sound is fascinating to me. I'm contributing a bit of bass for his second album and I'm getting him involved in the production of a few of my tracks. Taking an approach left of centre feels right for me at the moment. World Music Software Launch! So what happened to the time? We've had to complete some important projects, namely our World Music software and a new range of songwriting videos. It's 5 months later than our projected finishing date. But you'd never believe the level of detail required in these multimedia projects. Thank goodness it's done. There's a sense of huge satisfaction when the CD is finally packaged ready to go. Sibelius distribute us worldwide, so the marketing is well in motion and is ongoing. Other Stuff Drummers, drummers, drummers! I've been around them constantly in the last 2 months, but it's been a blast. I've been recording kids music (album) with Richard ‘the Beatmaker' Cassell. The beautifully talented Katy contributed voice. We also worked on a youth project in Canning Town with some budding MC's. Richard has started work on a new Plan B album in between playing shows with MOBO winning artist, Akala and Keziah Jones. Also between touring Josh Breslaw from the brilliant Oi Va Voi has worked with me along with the percussion maestro Jamie Trowell. It's important musicians of this calibre still keep contact with kids. It kind of demystifies the whole music star bullshit. I like that idea of a kid thinking, 'Yeah I saw you on TV last week, and you're not that different to me, in fact that could be me one day' Celebrations - Alex got married. Best wedding band music I've ever heard. The cream of London's music scene played along with Corrine singing during the signing of the register. Congrats! See you at the shows! Marcel |
